Putting on his top hat, white tie and tails, band-leader and singer Duncan Galloway promises what will be an extra special, tip-top evening, after last summer’s Gawsworth cancellation with the Orchestra marooned at a far-away European airport (after a fault with their aircraft).
Anyway, this July we’ve banned them from even a sniff of the English Channel, confiscated their euros, and been assured they’ll be Puttin’ on the Ritz, in true style once more!
Since 1969, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra has been faithfully re-creating the glories of popular music from the 1920s and 1930s. And this show features timeless classics from the great American song book, that made household names of singers like Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire.
The superb arrangements and sound of the fabled American orchestras such as Duke Ellington will also be lovingly re-created, while the orchestra will also pay tribute to the great British dance bands of the day.
(No Children under six years old may attend performances.)
